pURpLE

Purple, my favourite colour

Purple is know as the colour of royalty. A mysterious color. It is associated with both nobility and spirituality. Purple has a special, almost sacred place in nature: lavender, orchid, lilac, and violet flowers are often considered precious (Just like me). Because purple is derived from the mixing of a strong warm and strong cool color where it has both warm and cool properties. A purple room is said to boost a child's imagination or an artist's creativity. I totally agree with that. But some say that too much purple, like blue, could result in moodiness(Not really, it depends on the individual).

Culture of Purple:
-The color of mourning for widows in Thailand
-purple was the favorite color of Egypt's Cleopatra
-has been traditionally associated with royalty in many cultures
-Purple robes were worn by royalty and people of authority or high rank
-The Purple Heart is a U.S. Military decoration given to soldiers wounded in battle

Purple speaks its own language. It is said that the use of purple in familiar phrases can help a designer see how their color of choice might be perceived by others, both the positive and negative aspects.

Good purple

a)Purple cow - something remarkable, eye-catching, unusual

Bad purple

a)Purple speech - profanity, raunchy language
b)Purple prose - exaggeration, colorful lies
c)Purple haze - state of confusion or euphoria, possibly drug-induced

I personally think the colour purple is a very unique colour because of its mysterious and calming yet elegant and attractive look. Purple colour always attract other peoples attention, be it a car, a wall, an object or a video. In my opinion, the use of purple colour in the fashion industry is a smart way of generating interest in a fashion design. Based on Feng Shui, the colour purple can be represented by the amethyst crystal which also means healing or meditation
